Jersey Shore

We were so fortunate to recently spend a few nights at Coastal Haven Condo in Brigantine, New Jersey. David and I hadn't had any time off and needed this time together, especially before Xavier left us. Living in a small travel trailer creates many challenges, one of those challenges, is baking. Because of limited space I was not going to attempt baking our special sugar cookies this year. I was so thrilled to find out the condo has a full kitchen. We packed up my Kitchen Aid and had a relaxing weekend filled with frosting!

We arrived in the evening which is usual for us, no matter how hard we try to get somewhere in daylight it never seems to happen! We spotted our destination as soon as we saw the welcoming wreath on the door. As I opened the door, we were welcomed by a beautifully lit Christmas tree decorated in a beach theme completely fitting for the location. Lights had been turned on for us, in anticipation of our arrival. Such a thoughtful gesture.

Our first impression was how cozy and comfortable the condo was. I loved that the bedrooms were on different floors with balconies off each one and each with their own bathroom. There was plenty of space to spread out. After checking out the different rooms, we sat down at the kitchen table (we dont have a table in our trailer and this is something I really enjoyed) for dinner which we had picked up at a local restuarant. Then the boys played fooseball and hooked up their Xbox while David and I watched TV in our room.

The next morning David made coffee with the coffee maker and coffee provided for our use. We both bundled up and took Leo on a walk on the beach. It is a very short walk to the sand, very convenient. After soaking in the salty air and the sound of the crashing waves, we walked back to our condo and left Leo with the boys. We then took a drive to explore the area and do some grocery shopping. I needed to get all of the ingredients to bake sugar cookies. We bought fruit and veggie trays and crackers and chips to snack on throughout the day.

When we arrived home, Davis and Xavier had already gone down to the beach with Leo. Davis loved how the sand was blowing on top of the beach making it look like fog. They were excited to see we were located so closely to Atlantic City. We spent the whole day together, baking and simply hanghing out.

The following day we did some shopping and ate dinner in Atlantic City at the Borgata Casino. It was so nice to get to enjoy such a beautiful city during the off season. Not many people think to take a getaway to the beach during the winter but I highly recommend staying at the Coastal Haven Condo. Every detail did not go unnoticed. The cleanliness and comfortable atmosphere was so enjoyable. We actually loved that the weather was cooler and we could spend time together next to the Christmas tree!

Amanda has thought of everything and is a wonderful host!
